How much should one budget for wedding?

I have a feeling that it often is the women pushing for expensive and extravagant weddings to impress and make other women jealous.

Most men like myself couldn't care less and prefer a modest and humble wedding with only the closest family and family friends.

I would want mostly family, family friends and close friends. A small wedding is prefered.

A wedding that is based on the sunnah gets more blessings than 50k weddings. Simple weddings are better and more beneficial. Lots of money can be saved and could be spend on a nice house in a good area. Plus you may can explore the world. People get in debt after the aroos.
I would say 5k for a simple wedding
