Sooooo much potential I’m talking longest coastline in Africa so there’s already so many industries such as, tourism, fishing, oil (potentially?) and even coastal agriculture etc etc. In terms of land potential… Once you factor in Somaliaweyn whew ‍ Somalia is also placed in a strategic location which could have been blessing due to trading and our connection to different regions, but it’s a curse atm. May I add that our country has a great wind and solar potential, which reduces our dependence on finite resources and creates soooooo many jobs. Additionally, our extremely young population has amazing benefits such as a large workforce, economic productivity, and also, hopefully, the drive to do better and ditch the ways of the old. This is all I can recall for the time being, but there’s much more definitely.

Blessings upon blessings alhamdulillah! It hurts my heart to see my fellow countryfolk squander the potential of our country for short-term, selfish gains. I want these horrible, spineless, greedy people in charge gone! Dead, most preferably…

My ultimate dream is to see a peaceful, somewhat prosperous Somalia. I include it in my dua every prayer, but I feel as though it’s far from possible

People saying somalis can't live without qabil are stupid. Literally the entire world had divisions but all the powerful and richer nations got rid of it.
Europe had clans but they were abolished by the Catholic Church Which was the central authority. Then the hundreds of tiny kingdoms were conquered and united into large nation states.

Japan was divided into clan states constantly raiding each other as early as 1868. But a government united it through force under the emperor. For the next few decades constant clan millitia rebellions took place all around Japan but the far superior military put them down brutally and the clans eventually submitted until they slowly became phased out completely by the modern era.

Somalis can live in a post clan society. There just needs to be people willing to drive the change, through violence.

A peaceful and united Somalia could dominate the trade in the Red Sea because we’re situated at the point where the Indian Ocean & Red Sea interact. We can also consider the farmland potential from Hararghe to the southern Somaliweyn and all the crops we could grow and sell. We also have a lot of natural resources and a decent sized population, as long as we have bright minded nationalistic leaders we could get to a comfy high-middle income country by the end of the century.
