They are called Meheri Ismaciil, thats right cousins of Darood Ismaciil, most of them came to former majerteen sultanate regions due to trade, they are believed to have lived along side Somalis in northern Somalia (Harti lands) for many centuries, when people say Darood was arab, they are usually referring back to the Meheri Ismaciil people who also confirm this by confirming that they are brothers with Daroods, they are arabs who come from the Al- Mahra region in Northern Yemen, Southern Oman, they arrived in Somalia before Ahmed Gurrey fought abyssinia probably in the 12-14th centuries, they mostly arrived on the somali peninsula due to trade, but they didn't leave and became part of Somalis. First majority where in Bari, but they gradually settled further south, Nugaal and then Mudug (northern), now most live in Mudug.

So Abdirahman bin Isma'il al-Jabarti and Mehri are brothers eh?but these guys barely have any somali influence they look like typical arabs.
How do they contribute to puntlands economy what job do they usually do and did they adopt a nomadic lifestyle like somalis?
also are they racist to somalis or welcoming?

Daroods became somalis right from the get go, (Sheikh Daarood marriage with Dir) and mixed with other Somali clans over the centuries, meheri ismaciil on the hand, came in small numbers from arabia and some mixed with somalis and some didn't, the meheris that didn't look more like the inhabitants of Al Mahra Governate of Yemen and Socotra than the assimilated ones for obvious reasons.
Let me make it easy for you to understand,

Meheris = Socotra inhabitants

Carab Saalax = Assimilated meheris with heavy somali admixture, some look more arab than others
