What do Maasai's get on 23andme?... although I doubt there has ever been one lol

The Maasai and Tutsi get high East African percentages, only because there are a few hundred (unchecked and random) Maasai samples in the East African category.

If they only used Somalis, their East African % would drop massively while for Somalis it would stay the same as is.

Somalis are the pure unadulterated East African ancestral archetype. You're right, they should sieve out the xabashis and East African bantus who have a cocktail of different origins.

I have 97% East African ancestry, that kind of purity is only found in Colombian Marching Powder.

But isn't the whole point of using all these ethnic groups to identify what markers are specific to the region and what isn't? I believe they probably have Nilotic markers as East African too, which is probably what they ^^^ have a lot of.

They can also just use a system without telling the algorithm anything and letting it figure out subgroups. That's more scientific.

Or if they want to make it structured, at least only use ethnic groups that haven't admixed much in the last 2000 years (plenty of those).

One can still be a Nilotic or Omotic admixed untermensch and still get over 96% East African. Don't get too excited with these fake numbers.

I got a male relative to do it to get the paternal haplogroup which was T. The maternal was L3 something. Let me check again.

Between different subclades of M and L. Can't really say which one is dominant. I think they're all pretty equal.

The cheap y-tests of today can't find differences acquired over the last 1,000 years. Those of the future will be able to.
