How do you deal with family members in Somalia

I have 2 kinds of relatives the ones we keep in touch with each other and from time to time need some cash when they low and I help em out

The other one never contacts me but when they do they draw a long story of how they need money to fix a tooth, buy eid gifts for kids one even said he needs money to pay his maid... I never give money to these relatives when I've visited I've seen how they finess others to fund their khat habits

I don't know. I just give money to my mom and dad and they sort it. No idea how they spend it

I try to have a personal relationship with most of my relatives, especially the close ones. People are modest most of the time. They never really hassled me for money since they knew my circumstances. Nowadays, I do get more frequent calls asking for lacag. But, most of the reasons are life situations changing and the person needing assistance helping themselves.

My view is I didn’t do anything to deserve the life I have or get an education or a well paying job so I shouldn’t be stingy with those things. I have to use my resources (blessings) for khayr. Allah is testing those with and those without.

My family has a right over me. I will support them in any way possible if I see goodness in the matter.

Who are always asking for more and more money? How bad is the situation in Somalia, can't people support themselves or? Is sending money good or bad for their own development?

They do have money. Every dhalin yaro I know boasts about getting money from relatives abroad. Support the elderly and the ones with children
