So currently I sat an exam and I didn't get the mark I was expecting. I probably over revised or just was tired ( I really don't why ) but ever since I've been feeling down and stuff. How do you guys deal with failure?
That is not a failure, but a setback, which in turn breeds success. So, think of it as a stumble, and as the axiom goes: It is not about the slip, but how quickly one gets back on the saddle. So currently I sat an exam and I didn't get the mark I was expecting. Thanks walaal!I simply look back at all the blessing I've received one being the fingers I'm currently typing this message with. Look around you and look at everything Allah SWT has blessed you with, at the moment this might be a huge blunder but if I where to ask you about it a couple of months from now you wouldn't even give it a second thought. I've had moments where I thought my whole world was crashing down and death was the only way out, only to laugh at the thought of killing yourself over something so insignificant. With time you'll move on Insa'Allah don't forgot the remembrance of your lord and the reason in which you are here.
Al-Baqarah 2:152
remember Me; I will remember you. And thank Me, and never be ungrateful.
Az-Zukhruf 43:13
so that you may sit firmly on their backs, and remember your Lord’s blessings once you are settled on them, saying, “Glory be to the One Who has subjected these for us, for we could have never done so ˹on our own˺.
Yeah I think some of my study methods need to change tbh. Thanks walaal!Only way to make it positive is to use it as a learning experience. Maybe your study methods could use some fine-tuning? Overstudying is a bit counter intuitive, u think ur prepared but u just forget everything and feel overwhelmed by the volume.
Try to get used to failures because you'll need it when applying for jobs.
Does it really work?By blaming myself and urging myself to work harder.
I don't know if it would work for you. But personally I blame nobody but myself and by blaming nobody by myself i sit down and think about what I needed to change and what went wrong.Does it really work?
Thanks for the advice walaal!!I don't know if it would work for you. But personally I blame nobody but myself and by blaming nobody by myself i sit down and think about what I needed to change and what went wrong.
Then i implement it.
Omg this is actually motivating. Will use this tactic often!! <33Be pissed at yourself and use that anger as motivation
everytime you're sleepy, think of your failure
everytime you want to use your phone, think of your failure
everytime you want to go out with friends, think of your failure
Everytime you don't feel the urge to study, think of your failure
Alway remind yourself of your failure so you don't forget. That will force you to actually get your shit togetherwell, at least that works for me

Thanks walaal <3The difference between a master and the novice is that the master failed more than the novice tried.
Imagine an athlete who is trying to break their own record. They would fail 50 to 100 times before they break their own goal. However when outsiders look in they think this man is so talented he doesn't fail.
What makes anyone good at something is how many times they learnt from their shortcomings.
This philosophy can be tied to anything even the deen. Allah states that if mankind would of turned out to be a creation without the ability to sin he would of wiped us out and create one that does. Allah loves the sinner that repents.
So TL;DR failure is a great step to moving forward.
