I’ve had this account for a year, and have been using it for about 5 (?) months on and off and leaving at my leisure :gaasdrink:

I barely even remember how I found this website. I think I was searching for some Somali history and accidentally came across a thread on here.

I’ve never even been on a forum like this before but I’m glad I found it

I was around since this place's founding, more or less. It seemed to be an off-shoot of Somnet or basically just a new Somali forum made in that tradition back then that didn't have the old-school and terrible UI so it was attractive to tahriib to.

My first several years on here were quite strange. I'd log on once a year at random, troll like an absolute lunatic then disappear until the next year; each time only sticking around for one day. My weird early 20s brain somehow thought this was amusing, idk— young niggas be dumb, what can I say?

I eventually became a regular around 2020 when I was experiencing hardships in my to day to day life and found this place to be a nice spot to decompress because, well, Somalis are funny as f*ck. I then also couldn't help but nerd out in the more historical sections cos I'm a dork that way and here we are.

Walaal you’re a valuable asset to this page. It was likely one of your threads that brought me to this website.

Please genuinely consider getting published, as History student I will say that Somali history is so heavily under explored it’s upsetting. When I discovered Sada Mire’s work it felt like the first breath of fresh air. I’m not trying to force you to do anything but if you have a blog or something lmk :draketf:

I was too chronically offline in the early 2010s 😞 I missed a lot

I was 15 and about to go Somalia :dead: just looking up Somali related things and ended up here

I remember it was a random semi viral twitter thread in like 2022, some random non-somalis were tearing it apart and making fun of all the posts in it and trying to make somalis seem as this cartoonishly racist and delusional people because of troll posts on a niche forum they stalked lols

I was on mereja and naija forum and also lipstick alley first (was a lurker) and questioned if there was a somali forum. I searched up “somali forum” and before you even know it “somalispot” popped up😭😂 I lurked since lockdown and decided to make an account recently

i liked somnet but it was annoying to lurk on. Almost every post I clicked on, I needed to create an account to view the content

Stopped browsing that place a while ago but I remember there used to be one or two Somali guys posting on /int/, all from Somalia too. There was also a Somali nationalist posting on the /his/ board.
I stopped browsing it, too.
