Before all the fancy diet plans, extra protein and gym equipment. I still wonder if the normal day to day physical activities were enough to build as much muscle as was portayed by the greeks and other civilisations, albeit being slightly exaggerated.

The physiques must have been witnessed for them to base their art work on them and sculpt statues with such detailed knowledge of the peak human physique.

Did they have an ancint form of steroids? does that explain the small.......you know....

Weight training existed in the Ancient World. Ancient societies like the Spartan Greeks valued wrestling and weight training to build physical strength & fighting capability.

Easy, the food they ate was natural whilst the sunlight and sleep they got was natural too. Also, ppl didn't drive, they were doing ten toes or went around on horses. Even the most sedentary farmer would have been very built as they didn't use tractors to plough fields. It was 100% blood, sweat and tears.

You couldn't afford to play with your health before the days of free healthcare too. Imagine a stoner or a junkie living in 1930s ghettos? They wouldnt last a day!
