How did the Ottomans view Somalis in the Middle Ages?

Did they view us in a positive light and as equals?. At the time of the Adal war,aid was sent to Axmed Gurey by the Ottomans.

They also held joint naval missions with ajuraan in the Indian ocean against the Portuguese. They were fighting alongside each other all the way to India. I don't know how they felt tho someone needs to bring up the letters that were exchanged to make all this happen

The Turks didn't even view the Arabs as equals -- and the Arabs carved out large, prosperous and advanced empires before the Turks even arrived on the scene.

The caliph sultan was viewed as the ruler of the world and everyone was his servents as high as the grand vizer. The ottomans did not have an ethnic system. Many sudani and blacks rose to prominence in the various parts of the empire. Somalis were viewed as allies against Portugal an potential subjects but Somalis didn’t buy into joining any caliphate. This might’ve saved us from becoming Arabized.
