Even the ones that don't practise the traditional firconi method still have a knack of trying to chop off a woman's whole clitoris, which is against islam and barbaric. Without the clitoris, women cannot enjoy sexual intercourse and in Somalia many do not take their daughters to hospitals, but allow old women with rusty infected knives to cut them.

I gave you the qashin because one poster asked you if cutting off the clitoris is mandated in Islam and you replied suggesting that is the case. Only a tiny bit of the hood is cut. Please make that clear.

You might think it isn't a real issue, but it is, i've spoken to many women about their complications especially how it effects marriages, births and healing after child birth. The physical and mental wellbeing of Somali women might not matter to you, but it does to me. All I am saying is this. Don't try and justify practises that has a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of women.

Many here like to pretend and say this is just due to westernisation, but answer this, why is it no one really talks about the Malays and Indonesians? I'm sure those in the west have issues with the Malays and Indonesians practising it, but many cannot say anything because the way these groups do it does not have a negative impact on their women. Their women are not dying from infections, or having haemorrhage after birth or severe tearing that ruins their bodies.

So how about we ensure the safety of our women, instead of crying about the west?

Our predecessors only did one type of circumcision which is the firconi type.

Only in the last 35 yrs have they started to do different forms that are not so severe, but still does not align with the sunnah.

Don't try and dig yourself out of this. You used the word predecessor and firconi types is the version that our culture predominantly practised historically from the very north to the very south.

we are talking about fgm you know in the shaafic madhab if you do it to a girl you have to pay 50 halaad and if it is a women who did it then we will have to do it to her too. STop making excuses waryaa and repent to allah before it is too late.
