Everyone is new, most of you guys are all in the same boat so I just say be proactive and go up to new people and talk.

This first term is going to be the most free you are for both years so use it wisely! Even if it gets awkward there’s nothing wrong with putting your social skills to practise.

Best options are probably classmates, other muslims, or break/lunchtimes.

I lack the social skills I had in year 7,8 I need conversations starters.I’m also on my phone 24/7 texting other people I should probably stop with that .

You don’t even need to have great social skills. It’s all in the body language. Eye contact nodding your head with a smile will get you very far in life. Like this

I tried making friends but eventually I just stuck with chatting to the few ppl thay were from my old colly. Only good friends I made were from my actual class we'd mess about in central instead go lesson, so they split me into another class second year. Was tough walahi

Other than that, I knew the people at colly but it wasn't deeper than small talk

You're either a leader or a follower, it's better to be a leader alone than be a follower, do your thing, and people will eventually be attracted, I spent a year and a half alone in secondary school, all my friends where either in the year above or at other schools, I eventually went to the same school, during UNI you pretty much have the first few weeks to make friends, I dipped on the annoying ones or the ones that will get you in a fight.

Tbh f having friends, I've lived my life without a single homie and frankly, I don't regret it. It's pretty chill. If you don't feel like it don't make friends. As you long as you don't have social anxiety, social skills is overrated.

I didn't have friends in my college all of them were anti social. It peaked at university.

Lool our last two years of high school aren't considered college over here. You could took a few courses that could help you earn some university credits but that's it. In fact we have high schools over here that could allow you to complete an associates degree while in high school(a 2 year degree. In most cases you would be completing half of your 4 year bachelor's degree). They started offering this shit after I graduated. I was mad as hell.
Could have gotten my associates at 18 and my bachelor's degree by 20 years old. Some of my college courses literally had some 16 year olds still in high school.

I honestly f*ck with the European model of school. I considered becoming a doctor when I was a teen but got turned off by the fact it took to long. In america you need a 4 year undergraduate degree before you can apply to med school.

In Europe you guys can go to med school right after high school.

You guys can become doctors by the age of 26-28. Fully finish the process by their early 30s.

It's actually sooner, since the medical degree is 6 years. So if someone goes uni at 18, they'll graduate and become junior doc at 24 and should be done with their specialism before 30.

No it’s 11th and 12th grade we don’t have middle schools in the uk it’s spilt up differently

so you guys have primary school, secondary and college? do you have to buy new uniform for college?

College or sixth form both are 2 years for most people.You don’t wear uniform in college or sixth form but in sixth form there’s dress codes.
