How can you have social power as a conservative nation?

Social power and social influence comes from culture.

these things tend to originate from things like sports, music, art ,etc.

if you are a conservative nation and you frown upon all these things, how can you have social power in the world?

The easiest way is becoming a religious leader and if your conservative nation is advanced you become a social critic, writer, philosopher or the likes. For example in an advanced conservative nation like the US, especially in the bible belt, ministers are widely respected.

You mean soft power?

I mean... you develop soft power by developing soft power. Fund state television in the country's language and in foreign languages. Promote books and lectures by intellectuals who agree with your viewpoint. Produce documentaries explaining that the propaganda against your nation is due to a Jewish-Masonic conspiracy.

The intention in religion has to be pure. It has to be done for the sake of Allah. If it is done for the sake of promoting the nation's soft power rather than for the sake of Allah than the intention is not pure.

I think the nation should promote scholars and scholarship, should encourage the development of scholars who can serve Allah and help guide the affairs of the ummah and of the nation- but the scholars must be servants of Allah and not entirely subordinate to the state- they must not be palace scholars.

If they are true genuine scholars, though, they do a lot of good for the society and they bring honor to the nation.
