How can I get better at Somali without going to Somalia?

Lmao this is me. I remember trying to listen to BBC Somalia in the background. It’s so fast, formal and complicated
Normally I would advise against this because the language and tone is very formal and 1 sided -hearing a conversation between 1 or more parties is very good compared to just a reporter blurting our information , still worth a try nonetheless

I speak somali decently. I’m not a hooyo mataalo

but if I’m told to read a government paper or a poem I’m fucked

This is a thread for those who want to improve their Somali while living in the Qurbaha. Drop any resource’s y’all have here.
Are there any intermediate or advanced Somali classes? I know multiple universities and colleges in Minnesota have at least beginner classes.
An idea: If you live in MN, volunteer with one of the 'eedooyin' at her business at one of the malls, and voila! Poerty in any language is too advanced for faint-hearted neophyte.

Better yet: Have you got an adeer/abti, who is into poetry, and linguistics? Make him your de facto teacher, and guide.

Best idea: Go home, and spend some quality time with the nomads, esp. teenagers, for a couple of months, and you will be proficient in no time (they will even teach you all the cussing words).
How about one with the Somali spot members?
This is actually a brilliant idea, and we have already got an enthusiastic teacher in @backgroundISneeded .

I shall gather some audio, and reading material, and post it in the 'Af So'ma'li' section, as time permits.
