old people in britain think they have an empire they can rely on, that india, canada, australia, america will come rushing to do a trade deal

reality is britain offers absolutely nothing to these nations, nobody wants to buy british cars, or british clothing, or british food, so what is britain actually offering

How will brexit affect the day to day of an average worker joe in Britain?

Brexit hasn't actually happened yet. Britain is in a transitional period until January 2021. What happens after nobody knows, but everyone has a theory.

Most likely, on Jan 2021, the transitional period will be extended, for one or two years. So nothing will change for the next 3 years or so.

If britain and the eu do agree on a deal, the changes will of course depend on that deal.

If britain decides that the eu is not being reasonable, it may decide to leave on wto rules. If that happens, most likely the british economy will collapse.

Either way, British somalis will find it difficult to get a visa to europe as most have a criminal record.
