I agree, the housing market is really bad at the moment. My comment was more towards areas considered hood in Seattle.

I have heard from people from UK that the hood in america is a next level of depravity, anyone who lives in america can comment on if this is true or not

It depends on the city, the diversity level, and whether it's rural-ish (in smaller towns) or urban (edges of big city downtowns).

My one clear instruction is if you see several different ethnicities living in a single hood or adjacent hoods - RUN.
