They botched blood and cheese, gave us unnecessary scenes with Cole is tasting alicent and then she is riding him when her daughter comes in and declares "the boy" is dead? She can't even acknowledge her own son is dead wtf is "the boy" nacaala Ryan condal and sera hess these two make D&D look like masterful producers.

I haven't read the GRRM series yet, but I read that the scenes of that saqajaan Criston and Alicent hooking up (TWICE, completely unnecessary) were added for the show-only, presumably to have enough sex scenes to keep audiences interested smh
I don't like the idea of Aegon being king (I'm team Rhaenyra) but this episode made him so much more likeable and empathetic, his scenes killed me.
I read online that the daughter (Helaena Targaryen) is meant to be dissociating in that scene and the actor portrayed that really well imo, it's a part of her characterization, hence why she couldn't bring herself to acknowledge the details of the moment, like the boy's name.
The seed is strong, for those unaware the Strongs are lost Starks, since Stark in germanic which means Strong, they have the blood of the first men unlike many in the riverlands who helm from the Andals.

The resemblance between the actor playing Jacerys Velaryon (Rhaenyra's older son who has a Strong father), and Jon Snow was sooo eerie, I had a hard time recognising that Jon Snow wasn't transported back in time for HOTD until later in the episode...

Why didnt they show the one eyed guys return and their reaction to learning of it?
I feel like the characters dont have any personality, they dont feel real. They are painting alicent and rhaenyra to be so weak and passive, who are burdened by power,and this makes them moral good woman. But the men who are pragmatic and with ambition are seen as evil. I never expected game of thrones to turn into this, makes me miss cersei.

100% the only thing I don't like about the show is how they portrayed the Velaryons, it would have been interesting if they married Summer Islanders, it would have been more accurate, instead of making them all black.
From the perspective of the book's canon, I wholeheartedly agree.
But I like that they broke the logic of the story's worldbuilding by making the Velaryons black, despite having Targaryen ancestry in Laena and Laenor that would have made that impossible.
It makes it whole lot easier to tell them apart onscreen with the inconsistently acceptable lighting that makes the Targaryen and Velaryon emblems harder to spot on their uniforms + the slight colour differences of the uniforms (very dark maroon for the Targaryens that can be easily mistaken for the very dark navy blue for the Velaryons in the dimly lit shots plus blink-and-you-miss-it dragon riding scenes).
