Afars are powerfull in Djibouti. They have important positions like prime minister, parliament president, defence minister, foreign minister who has been promoted to lead the african union.

In Djibouti you dont mess with afars. They have power real power and you will feel it if you want smoke. IOG was smart to tip the scale in their favor to crush the notorious afar insurgency called FRUD. The afars rebels almost brought the country to total destruction before peace agreement was signed and now they eating real good im telling you. Their children have the nice cars in town and enjoying daddy diplomats priviledges.
