Hopefully In Sha Allah I will be going deep in badiyaa in Somalia, but I have a question

Should I be wary of dangerous animals? Are there a lot of dangerous animals deep in the countryside of Somalia? I will be hiking etc.

I heard that lions still exist in northern somalia and somali galbeed. Of course there are leopards but they are rarely sighted, you should be warry of snakes, pests and other vermin. What's up why are you going to the miyi? Is it dhaqan celis?

I just want to go back to my roots of how my ancestors lifestyle were. Taking a break from the London city life.

Lions in northern areas of the country? I thought they’re confined now to the southern part of the country, near the Kenyan border.

Although my father grew up in the 1960s-1970s in the caynabo region togdheer present day somaliland, he told me he used to see a lot of lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, wolves. Many people died from lion attacks in the 60s when going out in the badiyaaa at night.

I don't know where, i was told in the baadiyo. It was before the war. He was missing for a few days, and when he came back he was crazy due to sleep deprivation. He slept like he was dead, and was fine after that.
Thanks allah he survived. Geeljire life is a tough one, they even look for water in snake invested wells. That is one frightful experience to remember for life.

I don't remember what part, but it was around those years that he ran into one.
