I'm also at a point in my life now where I consciously avoid wasting my energy on matters that will just end up hurting me emotionally.

We've got people that we financially support back home; and we constantly worry about political instability, war, famines, flooding and an assortment of other Biblical-like plagues that seem almost inherent to our miserable continent, so the empty life of a corn star that is only periodically filled by g** is the least of my worries.
