Gym culture seems a bit too narcissistic for my liking. I have always practiced martial arts and yoga personally.

The obsession with bulging muscles and protein shakes on the milder beginner stage to full out steroid use at the end stage just seems like a toxic progression and culture.

Health and fitness should be about mental, physical and emotional development on the personal level and not superificiality.
