Homosexuality is legal in Djibouti?

It's legal but there's a social stigma and people rarely talk about this stuff.

I have an annedocte about a man who was gentle, kind and creative.

His own personality was lovely.

But people thought he was effeminate (thus gay, to them, an effeminate man = gay, backward people smh).

Going back a few years ago, I heard from my parents that this man died. Because of his uniqueness and being different, he got harassed to the point of taking his life away.

Djibouti may be liberal (compared to our neighbors) on papers,
but it's still very homophobic.

It's legal
Is it really legal? in terms of constitution wise? I doubt that. Djiboutians have an attitude of laissez faire to most of the things but i do not think gays and lesbians are protected by the law. They do live their lives though. Albeit in secret.

The supposition is- typical str8 man is usually rough and unkind. Or a jerk. The brain of a typical str8 man is predatorial. Eyes always looking to scheme someone. An over active mind.

But masculinity just like EVERYTHING on earth has spectrum. There is 100 to 0 or vice verse

Yes it is said on Wikipedia that the Djiboutian Law tolerates gay couples and homosexuality isn't banned there (never been)

I don't think it's legal otherwise we'd be hearing thousands of Djibouti somalis protesting against it.
