If you stay in Johor Bahru, you can take bus to SG and it stops at the subway.

If you took a flight to Malaysia from the US, you would have saved more money. There’s cheap flights to HK all the time in the states. And then you fly a cheap carrier to KL from HK. After that take a leg from KL to Dubai and then go to Somalia.

On the way back, find a cheap route from Dubai to NY.
