Historic monuments in Mogadishu need to be destroyed

Just like the Statues of Slave traders were destroyed in Europe, we need to destroy these statues. I'm not disrespecting their legacy but Statues are haram in Islam and a lot of nations were led astray with Statues set up. When the prophet conquered Mecca, all the Idols surrounding the Kaaba was destroyed.

‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas’od (may Allah be pleased with him) said: when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah [at the Conquest], there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Ka’bah. He started hitting them with his stick and saying, “Truth has come and Baatil (falsehood) has vanished. Surely, Baatil is ever bound to vanish” [al-Israa’ 17:81 – interpretation of the meaning]. (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 2346; Muslim, 1781).

Abu’l-Hiyaj al-Asadi said: ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib said to me: Shall I not send you on the same basis as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me? Do not leave any statue without destroying it, and do not leave any built-up grave without razing it to the ground. (According to one report: and do not leave any picture without erasing it). (narrated by Muslim, 969).

Those issues can be tackled but they take time. Removing all the statues takes less than 1 hour

Statues were added while all this was happening. Surely those issues should’ve have been tackled before erecting statues (which are haram)

It takes 1 hour to destroy them, not a big deal. Poverty and defeating terrorists take longer but it should be our main priority.

I know they are haram, however they are there for a purpose not just for show. I don’t know about ya’lls countries but in mine the statues Unites the people.
After we have had reconciliation we can destroy them.
