Hey can someone tell me why FGM is bad? I’m a grown Somali man and recently discovered it through the internet.

Fgm is female genital mutilation. There are different versions of fgm. The one performed by somalis is a cultural practice and a pharaonic one. some say arawelo (if she's real) actually introduced it along side castration in somali society. Just like we men wouldnt want to get castrated I don't think women deserve to equally be mutilated in a simliar manner. It's not Islamic and its extremely harmful imagine as a guy going about life with part of your gentiles chopped off. It leads to many problems and hardships basically it's not Islamic and its been copied off pagan practices of the aincent Egyptian.

FGM is bad because, as the name states, it's mutilation of the female genitalia. its un-islamic and an extreme cultural practice to 'prevent' women from being promiscuous before marriage; it often causes severe complications, not to mention is done in an inhumane and painful way, like during childbirth
