Who said Eritrea is developed? its gdp is 2 billion while Somalia is 7 billion lol. Before a lot of people were big on secessionism but not now even if referendum is held.

At this point SL is just being stubborn. Literally no efforts from the world has happened to help them with recognition for decades and they still think they have a chance. The UN won't recognize them because if they do then hundreds of other seperatist states would push and demand recognition which is too much of a hassle for the UN and the other countries with their own seperatists. It would just be better for SL to just accept it and become an autonomous state within Somalia like Puntland. I'm also confused why Somalia isn't trying to reason with them.
