It is a crackdown on Tigray.
So once they clean the Tigray out of the pipes, they’ll go back to interfering in Somalia’s sovereignty?

But regardless this is such a small move it really doesn’t help Somalia’s central Government in anyways.

You know when Meles Zenawi took over Ethiopia in 1991, they used ''New Ethiopia'' as a slogan to refer that Ethiopia has a new internal and external politics, but since Ethiopia has always been led by Habesha, their first and foremost policy is to maintain Mogadishu weak.

Today as Oromos has taken over the power of Ethiopia, their attitude towards Mogadishu is different, they need alliance in the horn and has made Eritrea and Somalia their friends.

Farmaajo asked Abiy to close their doors for federal state presidents and things are going smooth.:trumpsmirk:

But it makes no sense tho, the very existence of a Somali state goes against the ideology of the empire of Ethiopia. Regardless of who is in power within Ethiopia, the idea that a stable Somalia could lead to protests, riots and independence of the largest region in the country should be enough reason to hold Somalia down.

So Oromo or Habesha, it’s no different as long as Ethiopia exists it will alway want a weak Somalia.

So where will this all lead?

There is a power struggle taking place in Ethiopia, its quite silent but those who knows about the region can see this struggle taking place.

An habesha led ethiopia and an oromo led Ethiopia has two different ideology.
Oromos don't want to come under the habesha hegemony anymore, and to do that they will have to have alliances in the region, they picked the ''cushitic alliance'' by allying themselves with Mogadishu.

The ideology of the empire of Ethiopia does not include oromos but only habesha themselves.

Your last sentence is correct ! Oromos where never part of the empire of Ethiopia and thus they severely underestimate Somalia recovering ! also in the 77' war the main soldiers where habesha/TPLF so they understand the danger of the Somalis.

I would do the same if I was tigrey somalia is super dangerous if they fix themself.

Oromos allying themselves with Mogadishu :childplease:
If I was Oromo I would continue the same foreign policy in Somalia, seeing as again Somalis are the only real threat to the existence of Ethiopia.

Too support Somalia is to invite death. It literally makes no sense from a long term point of view.

You have to ask yourself if the Oromos believes in Ethiopia, they believe in an independent Oromia and to achieve that they will have to be friendly towards those who has the same view as them, mainly Somalis, Afars, Eritreans and so on.

Do you honestly believe Oromos are fighting for independence and not to control all of the Ethiopia?
Than why do they attack Western Somalia with government backing ? Am I meant to believe that it’s all in the name of the greater good

The Oromos are just replacing the Habesha and will continue a similar foreign policy
