Nevertheless honesty is needed sometimes. I wished Somalis just had their own country that was doing relatively well and all the problems we hear and face in the west would've been virtually non-existent. Heck, Somalis would've been unknown to the world. A lowkey but a respected group of people but instead the word "Somalia" is attached to piracy, terrorism, tribalism, chaos, FGM, famine, malnourishment and in the west, Somalis are known as unintegrated refugees, welfare addicts, lazy people, single mothers, failed kids and loud & rude people. You cannot blame them for the horrible image we have given to the world. We did this to ourselves, not them. Our ancestors are literally fuming in their graves right now because we have disrespected their honour. They gave us everything and the resources to flourish as people. We were supposed to take their place in a proper way and continue their envision which is to succeed but instead, we failed them miserably.

It'll be interesting what the next Somali generation will do to fix all this mess that was caused by our older generation.

The Assassination of Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke was the biggest factor of the current mess Somalis are facing today, globally. If had he not been assassinated by Siad Barre. Qabyalad would've literally been non-existent today and Somalia would be prosperous.

Inshallah, I hope the new generation of Somalis take over and learn the mistake of the past and move forward with the right mindset to bring back the country's glory and hopefully, Somalis in the west can finally return back to their country.
