Siyaad Barre’s regime was the result of major qabiils, Darood and Hawiye. Look at the officers that did the coup in 1969, they were almost entirely from major clans.

0.5 were only brought after the major clans went against Barre and he needed loyalty.

During the civil war, it was major clans fighting each other. Al-Shabaab is headed by major clans exploiting the marginalisation of smaller clans in the Somali political system for their benefit.

The FGS is led by major clans, the opposition is major clans. The FMS is major clans, the military is major clans.
