Agreed. Never play with your paper and spare your networks from the wrath of your romantic melodramas. In truth, I don't think I'm in bad terms with anyone I talked to (generally). I just made sure they were few and far and in no way connected to me professionally or academically. I like to keep my personal and professional like segregated and this has never failed. ​
