have you been through a time

where you stopped praying and struggled with it, but eventually got back?

how did you do this? it’s hard

May Allah SWT make your struggles easy for you and may He provide you with clarity, comfort, and understanding, ameen.

Struggling with faith or having questions about the deen is a part of being human. Allah SWT gave us an inquisitive nature and innate curiosity, and so, it is part and parcel of our essence to ponder. Allah SWT has also blessed us with the Holy Quran. Surah Baqrah in particular is especially powerful for Muslims who are struggling with doubts or faith, with particular emphasis on verses 259 and 260.

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [ Allah ] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [ Allah ] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise." - Surah Baqrah verse 260

If Nabi Ibrahim alaihis salam, a Prophet nicknamed Khalilullah (The Friend of Allah) by God Himself asked Allah to show him how He gave life to the dead, it is only natural for people today to have questions from time to time

When it comes down to it, asking questions is not haraam, and as seen in Surah Baqrah, may actually strengthen your faith. What is incumbent upon you as a Muslim is to try to seek answers to whatever questions you may have from those who are knowledgeable, and to continue to strive in your worship of Allah SWT with increased salat and dua. My only other advice here would be to avoid anyone who dismisses your questions - your struggles are valid and must be addressed, so you need to keep searching until you find someone who is able to answer you well

May Allah SWT make your journey easy for you InshaAllah

Yeah Id pray like once a month during my teen years, then once every 6 months, then slowly would try and pick it back up again.

What helped was looking more into the religion independently.

Woow mashallah :yloezpe: :yloezpe: thank you for this response

This made me feel like I should also be reading more Quran. I used to be better with this but I’ll try inshallah

MashaAllah, the remembrance of Allah SWT by reading Quran is an excellent way of strengthening the iman. Do what you can and build up at your own pace InshaAllah - the key is to keep at it and be consistent, and InshaAllah Allah will make it easier for you with every passing day

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.” - Sunan Ibn Mājah 4240

Yes, never stopped it altogether i would pray even if i missed most. What helps me is thinking of my salat as my money in the bank to be cashed when its low i panic that motivates me.keep a mental note of it.
