My uncle who lives there told me skin cancer is widespread in that country. The sun is too close to them. They can't go outside without applying heavy lotions on their exposed skin parts. It's scary.

I've been there periodically. It's a nice place to visit and live but since I'm Australian and NZ is like a little brother to us Aussie there wasn't much of a difference.

One thing to note is that the country has beautiful mountains

Skin cancer is a concern for the cadaan people. It's true that ozone layer is partially exposed here in the southern hemisphere around Oceania but we're all Somali so it shouldn't be a problem for us.
