Some suggest that the central regions have been the cause of much conflict within Somalia and they would be right in believing this.
However many experts have also been impressed with how Cali Ciid has led this region to become a lot more functioning in the past year. This has been through leading the charge in military and policing efforts and appointing qualified individuals to key positions. Has this successful taming of the central regions given him the mandate to become the future President of Somalia?

Not the first Marehan VP and not the last. Both presidency and Vice Presidency is under the firm control of Villa Somalia. However the leadership of Cali Ciid in the central regions is undeniable. Abdi Kariye and Cali Ciid have built a symbiotic leadership style in which Cali Ciid is usually addressed as Kusimiaha Madaxweyne. Meaning he is the de facto President for protected periods of time since Abdi Kariye is away in places like Turkey or Xamar. They both represent large constituencies in the central regions so it makes sense for them to bring stability together.

This topic is not about the President of Somalia H.E. Farmaajo, I do commend what he has done for Somalia however there is another thread in which we discuss some of the recent events he has been a part of.

In regard to some people being tamed, take it how you want to. It's an undeniable fact that the destabilizing forces in Somalia can be traced back to the reer badiyo from the country side rushing into the nations capital en masse and looting state property as well as government documents.

This wave of reer badiyo folks tried to eliminate the intelligentsia in Somalia and caused many others to leave the country which caused a brain drain. My understanding from the literature is that many of these people are resisting the formation of governmental structures and institutions for two reasons primarily.

The first reason being that the looting of property and resources will be rectified and thus causing many people who evaded justice to be brought before the law. The second reason being that if there is a strong stability and security, the people that left the country will return and take over many sectors in Somalia.
