Oromo let themselves be used by Abiy Ahmed and Muuse Biixi in the whole MOU saga to become the face of the scandal. They even paid some elders to start claiming oromos are Somalis. This debate shows the anger of some the local youths:


The Ethiopians and Oromos politicians are also ever so slowly trying to expand Oromia into Somali territories, with the long term of expanding Oromo state to Gadabursi territory to make a bridge to the coast. Abiy Ahmed has said that Ethiopia will access the coast by force or through negotiations.

Oromo academics also have a habit of claiming territories in Somalia as previously belonged to them which causes tensions with locals.

I don’t agree with attacking random people or taking the law into your hands. I thought it was good to set the picture of the backstory though.
