It was bound to happen now that Ethiopian flies to Garowe then to Bosaso and back to Addis 3x weekly. This fully saturates Puntland’s air transport needs. Hargeisa’s role as a hub is going away. The only people who will land in Hargeisa are those with business in Somaliland. Aside from flights to Mogadishu, I doubt that there is even sufficient demand to keep Somali cities connected with one another.

No need for that but the federal states can compete economically. Now most Puntlanders will use their own airports to land instead of Hargeisa like in the past that will increase the revenue for Pland. I was surprised to have met many diaspora originally from Mogadishu here in UK who have never used Hargeisa airport due to direct flights to Mogadishu since 2012.
