America is more or less a meritocracy, especially post civil rights. The main problems facing US blacks is their own culture ('baby mamas', single motherhood, gangs, crime etc.). Not the US system.

The current problems are a product of living in poverty. It would not exist if they had access to well paying jobs that can support families.

Governments, at the local and state level especially, created laws to exclude blacks from the wider economy. All these problems weren't created by accident.

It could be argued that Blacks were more successful during segregation than now. They had their own businesses, banks, schools, hospitals etc and most importantly had more control over their political and economic lives. Now whenever they need to improve their situation they have to go beg white people for it.

I find it funny how people celebrate Rosa Parks for wanting to sit in the front of a bus reserved for white people when there were Black owned buses that she could have taken. It would have been better to spend her money to support other black people.

Integration has been a massive failure for Black people. You can thank MLK for that.

Culture changes depending on the environment. Just like any community they have the potential to change their circumstances.

I just take them as a lesson for us. We must avoid falling into the same traps that they fell upon.

The single mother statistics for Somalis are fake. A lot of them are still married, but they are scamming the system by registering the husband on another address for more gibsmedats. With Black Americans the single parent statistics are real.
