ONLF leaders should be executed for treason.

They tried to fee the Somali people but got betrayed the Somali people.
Treasonous people who served afweyne loyaly were responsible for the lives of millions of ogadens.
brave but futile...... all it took habesha was to pay off a section of ogaden to kill the other ogaden until they were relegated to random hit and run attacks.
Ogaden unitd alone could have freed their lands but money thrown here to this dabodhilif and to this other dabodhilif position in government caused defeat. Also a lack of adequte supply lines, foreign funding, spineless elders choosing money over freedom and lack of intel (eritreans dont have good intel) are some of the reasons they lost. We could have been houthis to ethiopians and dragged it until referendum or the tigray uprising.
I wil forever hate the habesha imperialists for the torment they did to my grandfather on my father side AUN. Also my cousins and family that shaheed for ONLF. However i no longer seek ogaden liberation for its sake, but for now i use my time and money to focus on being a seed that grows with a renewed somaliweyn. Somalia will kill me or i shall plant that seed.

The Houthi’s receive drones, missiles, Man Pads and other heavy equipments from Iran to sustain their war meanwhile Ogadenia is only fighting the entire Ethiopian military & Air Force with just Kalashnikov rifles. If Ogadenia had such fire power at hand we could wipe out not only the enemy but also the Dhabodhilifs. Future Ogaden resistance movements Need to purchase Anti tank missiles and seek underground political support from western enemy countries like Tehran, North Korea and Moscow

if we just had steady suply of ammunition and eritreans donated some manpads we could have won. Habeshis cannot defeat somalis on an equal footing never have and never will. Also another sad thing is veteran wslf all died off in late 80s so we had few experienced comanders.

The Eritreans will double cross Somalis, Afterall they are still Habeshi by Blood despite having beef with Ethiopia. I believe that we can bleed the Ethiopian military dry If we were secretly equipped by outsiders like the Mujahideens during the Soviet Afghan war who were given powerful weapons by the Americans to target Russian Aircraft and vehicle carriers. Ethiopians will in return massacre the civilian population but that will be revenged by the use of such powerful tools that cause more casualties for the enemy over regular small arms.
I agree. Thankfully as people get more humiliated historically the more likely young angry men take up weapons and i doubt this time they will listen to elders' surrender woes.
Why did Ogadens take it upon themselves to free the land when all Somalis failed in 1977? What did you guys really expect? That you can free yourselves and others Somalis from Ethiopia?
I support the ONLF's quest for liberation but in hindsight, it was a big mistake. Thousands died for nothing.

While they've intervened in Somalia twice even though our wars have been less brutal. Remember a gaal will always stand with brethren before they'll stand with you, so unless xabashada threw their weight in with china that will not be possible.
What choice did they have, they didn't expect the tplf to turn on them so fast. It was an expensive lesson, ultimately it doesn't matter who's in power they all hate your guts.
They were wrong only because they were fighting a losing war. They knew they weren't going to win. To liberate Somali galbeed, we need every Somali to be on board. We can't have any group that's going to be collaborating with the enemy. When they day comes, we will be able to free the land easily.
The west will always support Ethiopia, so we will have to come up with a plan to counter that as well.
They would have been better of fighting to capture JL especialy in the 90s.We should have sided with zenawi to fight Alitaxad in Gedo.And kicked out Galgaduud mooriyaans from Gedo.Then established a JL NFD economic zone.

ONLF used to refuse all offers TPLF gave them which were better than the current state.Then they declared war of independence which was short sighted and we were exposed to the enemy within aka somalis.
How can Maxamed cumar cusman lead war for independece of ogaden while he was a sitting duck in afweynes govt watching ogadens in JL being ethnic cleansed in the 80s?

@Sheikh Kulkuli Plz don’t spread Fitnah. The Main problem with the group was allowing Diaspora Elders to lead as chairman’s. The real leaders should have been all the ONLF Mujahideens who were martyred inside the region like Dr. Doolal & others. The Diaspora Elders who take their children to the best schools and have easy life in the west are the ones being rewarded for the sacrifice of thousands of veterans.
