The only really important thing to make sure is the residence (we need an address for everyone) and immigration. We need strong borders to control who comes in.

That's smart. This will take time. The only hope for these Somali Ethios/Kenyans is getting their ID while the laws are weak and not fully implemented.

Once the laws are fully implemented and we work with Ethiopia to stop people from there being loopholes it will be impossible for the laws to be abuesed.

Most Somalis don’t have birth certificates, how do you confirm if a Somalis is from Somalia or not? This will be your biggest obstacle, forget about loopholes.

It’s not a problem. We’ll use residence. For example we can use IDs linked to bank account. If you don’t use a bank in Somalia, pay tax in Somalia or make a purchase there it’s clear you don’t live in Somalia.

We can swap that information with Ethiopia etc. Technology already allows this.

Here in the U.K. if you are out for 6 months, you start losing your government services rights.

We already have started cooperation with Ethiopia on intelligence sharing. Mahad Salad was there last year and agreed to it. Next is ID, immigration etc.

Ethiopia is a good ally under Abiy tbh. I wouldn’t worry
