Its sad, I don't think there will ever be a diplomatic solution in this Israeli-palestinian conflict. Israel and the west will NEVER allow for the recognition of a palestinian state because they fear foreign money that flows into palestine will be used by terrorist groups against Israel.

Also, a destabilised middle east fits perfectly in line with western interests, providing Israel with ammunition and the green light to develop nuclear weapons gives the west particularly the US a strong foothold to exert some degree control over Arab countries. Other reasons include cheap oil, cooperate greed in the arms industry and a general dislike for Muslims.
