I don’t know about the number of Somali girls doing this but It’s an epidemic of all girls doing this to themselves. From what I have seen and read, they’re being influenced by their friend groups and trends in the society. They get support from physicians, mental health professionals and people in the government. If they have parents who object or don’t go along willingly, the kid is taught ways to get around their parents to get what they seek.
