Its prob because his algerian parent allowed him to play football instead of duugsi and eat nutritious food instead of quran saar followed by sessions of shaax and xalwa, Somali culture doesnt allow for it instead of it being an issue with genes.
Food thing is cope they have nutrition plans in academies.

It’s because Somali parents haven’t got a scooby about football. This guys dad probably grew up around the time Algeria played in the WC in 1982/1986 and when they won AFCON in 1990. Also he watched the best footballer in the world (Zidane) who was Algerian.

Algerian uncles in the coffee shop are always talking ball. My pops still thinks Hazard plays for chelsea

Who in their right mind would choose to represent Somalia when you have England and Algeria which is one of the best African teams to choose from. Full somalis like Taha Ali who can’t break into the Swedish NT doesn’t wanna play for us so we have no reason to expect half somalis to do it

Somalis need to put more effort into sports. I understand the importance of dugsi but playing organised football/basketball for example can help them with discipline and keeping them fit and healthy. Also if they’re good enough they can make it pro which helps somalis in general

Like lamine yamal. Arab/African

But plays for Spain. If he didn't get in the Spain side he would try Algeria and then as a last resort E. Guinea. Why? higher ranking and better chance of winning. Algeria are the current holders of copa africa.

Most African heritage players in europe, try to make it there first, and use Africa as a second option.
