If light skin Somalis are common, then why is there Somali-ness always doubted? Why don't light skin Habeshas have their "Habesha-ness" doubted?

We don't have protuding eyes. And most Somalis know what a Somali looks like unless you suffer from poor eyesight. The only thing that throws people off is being without the hijab. Even then our hair is thinner.

People know I'm Somali in the summer, but think I'm mixed during the winter/when I'm lighter. So it's definitely the colour of my skin.

Let's be real here, Somali women who are in interracial relationships mostly have kids resembling their father while it's the complete oppisate for Somali men and I'm not bullshitting.

I'm not gloryifing interracial marriage but I've seen Somali men with many foreign women like Canadian white, Arab, Persian, Berbers, Indonesian, Malaysian, Latino, Mixed race and even black (Kenyan) that have Somali looking kids.
