I have no doubt that Alasow initially tried to help him with good intentions. He mentioned that the kid's grandfather is a well-known man, which might explain why he got spooked.
Over time, he has gradually started to backtrack after realizing the scale of the situation and the number of people involved.
If this case is true, it has the potential to make major headlines, with many people possibly facing arrest.
He now claims that the kid's aunt built the house they were living in and has been funding the kid's education. He also stated that all the money she earned went toward supporting his mentally ill mother, and that all the receipts were sent to him. Furthermore, he added that the aunt has nothing to do with the passports and knows nothing about them.
He's now saying the kid waa caasi.
In my opinion, he is now trying to distance himself from the situation, possibly because the people involved have strong connections through qabil affiliation.
I also believe they fear the kid might return to Canada and open a case against his aunt, which could lead to her arrest. Ultimately, this would all fall back on him, and his reputation would be on the line.
He’s being very strategic, in my view. I could be wrong, though; Allah knows best.
