Yes salt is in shortage in Africa and many landlocked countries without access to sea. It's a potential market with not much competition and big earnings if done right. The only other potential competitor is djibouti who is renowned for salt valleys. I am suprised why we don't use those rocks that are plenty and start sizing, refining them, breaking them down into various raw materials.
If PL has anything in abudance it's raw materials, with the construction boom happening in Somalia, they need 'raw materials'.
One thing I hate about PL and Somalia in general, is there lack of understanding regarding storage. War gaaladu hal mar intay shaqo gabtan bay kala sifayan kadib meel bay wax kasto dhigtan. Where-as in PL wax kasto waa 'live' there is no storage, marki jid la dhisayo bay markasi la yimadan qalabyada dhagaxa lagu jebiyo. Markay cunto cunayan, same deal isla malintasi bay qalan, maba yaqanan wax storage la yirahdo.
It saves them on so much costs of renting or buying construction equipment, if they just had one plant where they store all their construction needs for the state in packages ma garatay. Same with food, maba yaqanan in 'fridge' la geliyo cuntada si lacagta ku dhigmato oo hal week aad cunto helaysa. The same principle applies with construction material, they package up and store in warehouses. They don't keep repeating the same job marki loo bahan yahay, they go straight to the warehouse and take what construction material they need.
