This African guy comes up to me, asking for a cigarette as I'm enjoying one. He tells me, he doesn't want to buy a whole pack as he's trying to quit. As we're smoking, we get to talking.

I asked him where he's from? Gambia he tells me. I say Masha'Allah, then he pulls this weird face. Sensing he didn't like that, I asked him is he not Muslim? He says no, that he practices some old spiritual religion that includes having the earth in great respect and praying to your ancestors.

But isn't Gambia a Muslim country? I asked him, which he said it is, but he isn't...."as Islam is a foreign religion" he tells me. I then said, so you worship your Muslim ancestors? As Islam has been present in West Africa for close to a 1k years......

He flat out said with a serious face.....not those ancestors, but his *ancient* ancestors from the times before Islam.....

I flat out told him, he's woefully wrong and nonsensical, and walked away from the nutter.

Damn, the mental gymnastics and insanity of these lot is something else entirely. That guy reminded me of these new age guntino obsessed waaqis, we see online.
