Ethiopian jews are not equal to European Jews, there is always a chance of them getting deported. European jews are never deported.

The father is an Ethiopian citizen and not Ethiopian Israeli. Israel can of course deport an Ethiopian citizen. I was asking a case where an Ethiopian jew citizen was deported. In fact the article says the reason why the boy can’t be deported: „The boy, 12-year-old Yoel Tegen, cannot be forced to leave Israel because he is a citizen“. Exactly and since Ethiopian jews are citizens, they can’t be deported.

Again the father is Ethiopian citizen and can of course be deported. See my above post. I was asking for any deportation of an Ethiopian jew Israeli citizen.

Yes they speak Amharic and Tigrigna but they are very different from the normal Ethiopian diaspora. They had been waiting for to go back to their home land (Israel) for centuries. At least the first arrivals came to Israel not as an immigrant but a people who finally went home. Ethiopia was their diaspora host country not Israel. Since they identify with Israel as their home land and not Ethiopia, we can’t just equate them with the usually ethiopian diaspora in the west. These are original agews who are jews and believe Israel is their homeland not Ethiopia.
