If people don’t dry their Dabo and private areas with tissue after istinjaa, their pants become wet and it can lead to a damp odour, especially if they’re not showering everyday or wearing same underpants for several days.

A similar damp odour can be caused by clothes not being dried properly or too much clothes being stuffed in the machine.

People can clothes can also develop a type of odour if they are always xawaash and there is a lack of ventilation. Ive seen some fobs legit smell like cumin powder.

It’s the spices we use. Remember most our spices come from India. Kitchens here are open kitchen so it will stuck in ur clothes by simply being in the living room

Aside from that, you can't tell he is bitter/salty that a gang of Somalis beat the crap out of him growing up as he talks about that and now sees the same people running businesses in his neighborhood in Ohio. To him, it feels like they’ve taken over.

You’ll hear countless stories from other Africans & Carribs (like Nigerians, Hatians etc) saying they were bullied into silence or made to feel ashamed of their roots by Black Americans. Some even admit they used to hide their heritage. But you rarely, if ever, hear that from Somalis. Why? Because we don’t break like that. We come with pride, identity, and community, and that, to some people, is triggering.
