if you want to critique Aristotle, you analyze his books....you don't base everything on unverified biographical rumors and you don't skip his books and just deal with some alleged followers who lived 700 years later... can you imagine if an academic person tried that same approach with Kant or Aristotle? they would be a laughingstock. if they took the Sufi approach they might write a 300-page book meant to refute Aristotle without ever actually citing a single book by Aristotle.

We did read his books and books written by his students and the rebuttals written against his books by the scholars of his time such as his brothers ‘divine lightening.’ The man was a total ignorant, he considered disliked or haram actions (such as the graves) to be “Shirk Akbar”, he considered legitimate Islamic practices (accepted by all four Madhabs) such as intercession through the Prophet ﷺ to be “Major Shirk” and accused everyone who didn’t follow his Khariji cult to be a Mushrik. Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab wasn’t a scholar but a Khawarij lunatic, anyone who reads the sources can see that. The scholars of the four madhabs during his time unanimously condemned him as such. No amount of Saudi petrodollars is going to whitewash his image.
