If they are smart (which I highly doubt), they can still take advantage of the education they offer in the juvenile jails and graduate with a University degree by the time they serve their sentences.

I hope they are able to change themselves while in prison but even if they graduate no one is going to employ them with murder convictions. knowledge is power, hopefully they reflect on their choices in life and educate themselves.

Longer sentencing is good from the perspective of the victims/family. Does it really act as a deterrent though? USA has harsher sentencing yet the same issues around crime persist.........

This makes me ponder about punishments.

I honestly have always sided with the death penalty for murders. Especially mass murders and serial killers.

But crime is still rampantly going on so it makes me wonder about my decision.
Should people give murderers the chance to experience life later on after decades in prison.

Over here in the states sex offenders and pedophiles have to inform their new neighbors that they are pedophiles and sex offenders. You can legit go online and see who is a sex offender and pedophile in your area. Those dudes get harassed often.

imagine an ex murderer who spent 30+ years in prison.
Or someone who assisted to a murder. Do you think people want to knowling be neighbors with an ex murderer. The individual will never be trusted.

Should families have to worry about the fact that they might run into someone who killed their father/brother/sister/mother.
