The government arrested more government officials and security forces who were suspected of committing crimes than any other opposition member. Even the opposition don't dispute this fact. There are real allegations that are based on facts and the government is trying to clean the criminals inside its own apparatus. Some of the videos like soldiers burning homes etc. were fake old videos that happened during TPLF era. It is only two years since PM Abiy came to power and start the reforms and compared to the decades of torture etc. committed by the TPLF regime, the Abiy government is doing much much better but of course we are not there yet.

Unfortunately, violence and oppression is part of the Horn politics. You just confirmed that the Ethiopian government has no control over the actions of its security apparatus and acts in a reactionary manner.

The TPLF is the product of the Ethiopian violent political culture. The decades of torture can also be attributed to your Amharas, Mengistu and Selassie.

I do hope that in whatever bruhaha is brewing in Ethiopia the innocent civilians will be spared.
