Knowing what you know now about the diaspora community you live in, would you move to the same country in hindsight or would you choose somewhere else to live? Where would that be and why?

Edit: let me know whether to add more options for the poll

I live in Germany and probably would have made the same choice tbh, although I'd prefer a bigger Somali community and living in an English-speaking country doesn't sound too bad either :obama: but overall I'm happy here.

:mjlol: im not sure why Somali didnt settle in warm states like Texas and Lousiana..and opted to settle in the coldest areas of Minnesota and Ohio

I was born in Dubai and was raised there..settled in America..i like America

I would still pick Australia, the quality of life here is unmatched
Australia is interesting ngl but I kinda appreciate how Europe is not that far removed from other regions, especially Africa in comparison to Australia/ America. Plus I'd imagine the Somali community is not much bigger than say in Scandinavia or even where I live. Tell me more about it sxb where do most Somalis live in Australia?

USA USA USA!!!!
:salute: the US is one of the countries I wished my parents moved to tbh and this inspired this thread amongst others. Back in the day it was more about the popular movies and music we grew up with impacting my image of what it is like, seemed more relevant than most non-English-speaking countries. Still would give it a go if I had the chance :yousmart:
f*ck all these countries i pick UAE (Asia)
lol akhi, I apologise that you had to cast your vote that broadly, not sure about the UAE tbh :wow1:but I guess if you can afford it/ have a job lined up or have a lot of relatives there/ grew up there I can see the appeal (correct me if I'm wrong this is my current impression of that region)

The vast majority of somalis in Australia live in Melbourne whilst theres a noticeable community in Perth.I'd put the population at around 20k nationwide. The somalis here know each other pretty well and tend to live in the same suburbs.

Totally agree mate, we have it good. I wouldn't mind trying out New Zealand too tbh seems like a more serene and progressive country then ours.
I love New Zealand but I feel that certain Australian cities offer greater economic opportunities, which is why you see a whole heap of somali Aussies that were originally reer New Zealand
